With an additional 27.8 million euros from the Recovery Fund “Greece 2.0”, the Action “Research – Create – Innovate” (EDK), 2nd cycle, Intervention II “Business Partnerships with Research Organizations” is directly supported.
More specifically, the total budget of the Action is 27.8 million euros and the co-financed public expenditure from the Recovery Fund through the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan “Greece 2.0” amounts to 24.72 million euros.
The Special Service for Management and Implementation of Actions in the fields of Research, Technological Development and Innovation (EYDE ETAK) has been appointed as the Implementing Body of the Action.
It is addressed exclusively to the potential beneficiaries of 36 projects of the NSRF Programming Period 2014-2020. These proposals, although highly rated and considered excellent, were not funded due to lack of available resources.
The Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis stated:
“The Ministry of Development and Investment manages to be one of the first Ministries in the absorption of the Recovery Fund, just as we managed to play a leading role in the absorption of NSRF resources. In 2021 we proceed to the announcement for the potential beneficiaries of 36 projects “2020 so that all mature proposals are funded properly. We continue at the same pace.”
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Christos Dimas stressed: “We made a conscious decision to use the resources of the Recovery Fund immediately to fund research proposals which were evaluated with a very high score but were not funded because the budget was exhausted. In this way, we reward scientific excellence and actively support scientific and business innovation. ”
According to the Secretary General of Research and Innovation, Athanasios Kyriazis, “with the invitation we signed today, we aim to finance mature research proposals from Greece 2.0. It is the first call for support for research and innovation projects from the Recovery Fund.”
