Υπ. Shipping: Invitation to cover 127 public service ferry lines

An invitation from the Ministry of Shipping to the shipping companies, which are interested in covering lines of the Shipping Network with a public service contract from one to five years, from 01.11.2022, was posted on the clarity.

The terms of the invitation, which are also terms of the contract, may be modified with the consent of the parties. It is also possible to modify a route or lines by decision of the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy and the opinion of the Shipping Council.

The lines, which are a total of 127, have been posted in the announcement of the competition in Diavgeia.

The Directorate of Maritime Transport within fifteen (15) working days from the date of expiration of the deadline for expression of interest proceeds to the preparation of a selection minutes of the interested parties based on the ratings of the ships.

The following are attached to the minutes:

(a) the scoreboard of ships;

(b) any objections raised and the Commission ‘s decisions thereon; and

(c) any requests for expressions of interest which deviate from the requirements of the table in this call.

The Minister of Shipping and Island Policy may exclude shipowners from the procedures of this call, even if they meet the formal and substantive requirements thereof, if it is reasonably considered that they and their ships have in the past suffered serious or repeated breaches of itineraries / routing conditions.

Ship-owning companies wishing to express interest can submit a request for ship or ship launching to the Directorate of Maritime Affairs, the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy until 20/05/2022.
