1.6 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19 arrive in Brazil to reinforce the vaccination campaign

On the night of this Sunday (11), 1.6 million BA1 bivalent doses arrived in Brazil at the Viracopos airport, in Campinas (SP), to reinforce the vaccination campaign against Covid-19.

The Ministry of Health must publish a technical note with guidance on the target audience, application planning and distribution of immunizers across the country.

For this Monday (12), there is a prediction for the arrival of another 1,4 million doses.

The vaccines are manufactured by Pfizer, a laboratory that maintains a contract with the Ministry of Health to carry out the delivery of all immunizers available and approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).

Each vaccine contains six doses per vial.

The BA1 vaccine acts against the original Omicron variant and the BA1 variant. The forecast is that immunizers adapted to protect the Ômicron BA4 and BA5 variants will soon arrive in Brazil. To date, 3.1 million bivalent vaccines are available for the Brazilian population.
