The prices of construction materials for new buildings jumped by 10.2% in March, with the peak of the significantly increased costs, mainly of electricity and oil.
In particular, as announced by ELSTAT, the General Price Index of Construction Materials for New Residential Buildings, with base year 2015 = 100.0 and reference month in March 2022, compared to the corresponding index of March 2021 showed an increase of 10.2%, compared to an increase 1.3% recorded when comparing the respective indicators of the year 2021 with 2020.
The General Index in March 2022, compared to the index of February 2022, showed an increase of 1.6%, compared to an increase of 0.4% recorded during the comparison of the respective months of 2021.
The average index of the twelve months April 2021 – March 2022, compared to the corresponding index of the twelve months April 2020 – March 2021, showed an increase of 5.8%, compared to a decrease of 0.1% compared to the previous twelve months.
