Car sales increased by 37.6% in February, while at the level of the first two months of the year the increase amounted to 10.6%.
In particular, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority, in February 2022 18,521 cars were released for the first time (new or used abroad) compared to 13,464 that were released in the corresponding month of 2021, showing an increase of 37.6%. The traffic of cars (new or used abroad) had a decrease of 18.8% for the first time in February 2021 compared to the corresponding month of 2020.
The new cars released in February 2022 amount to 9,300 compared to 7,379 released in the corresponding month of 2021, showing an increase of 26%.
The circulation of new motorcycles with a displacement of more than 50 cc (new and used abroad) in February amounted to 3,571 against 2,514 in the corresponding month of 2021, showing an increase of 42%. The release of new motorcycles (over 50 cc) in February 2021 compared to the corresponding month of 2020 did not change. The new motorcycles that were released in February amounted to 3,185 compared to 2,233 that were released in the corresponding month of 2021, showing an increase of 42.6%.
Regarding the two months of January – February, 32,565 cars were released for the first time (new or used abroad) compared to 29,447 that were released in the corresponding period of 2021, recording an increase of 10.6%. It had a decrease of 24.4% in the two months of January – February compared to the corresponding of 2020.
The new cars that were released in the period January – February 2022 amount to 15,357 compared to 15,857 that were released in the corresponding period of 2021, showing a decrease of 3.2%.
The circulation of new motorcycles over 50 cc (new and used abroad) during the period January – February 2022, amounted to 5,902 against 4,471 released in the corresponding period of 2021, showing an increase of 32.0%. There was a decrease of 10.9% in the two months of January – February 2021 compared to the corresponding period of 2020. The new motorcycles released in the period January – February 2022 amount to 5,277 compared to 3,937 released in the corresponding period 2021, showing an increase of 34.0 %.
