Less than a month after Ciro Gómez Leyva, a well-known journalist and radio and television news presenter in Mexico, will report an assassination attempt against him, the authorities have confirmed the arrest of 10 people for their probable participation in the attack.

On December 15, 2022, Ciro Gómez Leyva denounced through social networks an assassination attempt perpetrated by two people who shot him a few kilometers from his home. Fortunately, the armor on his vehicle kept him safe.
Mexican authorities promised to follow up on the case and on December 30, the SSC confirmed the identification of the intellectual authors of the attack, as well as the arrest of several vehicles that were involved in the events.

The investigation continued and in the early hours of this January 11, Claudia Sheinbaum, head of the Government of Mexico City, confirmed the arrest of ten people involved in the attack against the journalist. But that was not all, since she also explained that 12 simultaneous searches were carried out to find the alleged attackers, who must follow due legal process.
Elements of the Metropolitan Special Operations Unit (UMOE) of the SSC participated in the operations. In addition, the overflight of two helicopters and 200 police officers was reported.
