A police chase that lasted more than 100 kilometers ended with the death of a suspect and three military police wounded last night (4) on the Anchieta Highway, in São Bernardo do Campo, Greater São Paulo. The Civil Police investigates the case as a vehicle theft followed by clash with death.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Bureau (SSP-SP), the incident began on the Castello Branco Highway, at the time of Araçariguama, interior of the state, after the theft of a car. The driver, a 39 -year -old man, fled and traveled a long journey to collide with another vehicle on the Anchieta Highway, already in São Bernardo. Watch the video:
Upon being approached by the Military Highway Police, the suspect fired at the agents, who reacted. During the shooting, three police officers were hit and rescued to the city hospital, where they remain in care. The criminal was shot and died on the spot.
The skill was called and carried out the work on the stretch of the highway where the confrontation took place. The weapons and the vehicle involved were seized for analysis.
In a statement, Ecovias reported that the occurrence caused the interdiction of the left marginal lane of Via Anchieta, in km 22.9, direction capital. There was no record of slowness.
