The American company Lucid Motors yesterday, April 12, officially introduced its most powerful electric sedan at the moment – the vehicle received the sonorous name Air Grand Touring Performance. According to official information, the newest car boasts a range of over 700 kilometers and a really fast acceleration from zero to a hundred – it takes just 2.6 seconds for an electric car. Of course, it is worth noting that this is far from a record holder on the market, but for its segment, the dynamics indicator is really excellent.
It was possible to achieve such impressive performance thanks to two electric motors, which in total demonstrate 1050 horsepower. However, surprisingly, the Air Grand Touring Performance car is not Lucid Motors’ most powerful vehicle. The fact is that earlier the American manufacturer presented a faster model called the Air Dream Edition (top-end configuration), in which the total power of the power plants was 1126 horsepower. The current announcement is a conditional replacement for the Dream Edition, although the total capacity of the novelty is lower, and the price is ten thousand dollars higher (169 thousand versus 179 thousand dollars).
Naturally, the manufacturer did not forget about fast charging – it is enough to keep the Air Grand Touring Performance model on the “outlet” for 21 minutes to provide the user with a power reserve of 483 kilometers. For the automotive market, this is indeed impressive speed, but it is certainly not entirely clear how this will affect battery degradation.
The Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance is scheduled to go on sale in the US in June of this year, Canada will receive a sedan in August – the manufacturer is again silent about other markets.
