12 million people have not yet made an extraordinary withdrawal from the FGTS, says Caixa

About 12 million people have not yet withdrawn the equivalent of R$8 billion from the extraordinary withdrawal from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS), according to Caixa Econômica Federal.

The value is up to BRL 1,000 per worker and is available until December 15th.

The credit was deposited in a Digital Social Savings Account, automatically opened by Caixa on behalf of workers, between April and June of this year.

According to Caixa, about 45 million workers have already withdrawn, a total amount of R$ 30.98 billion.

If the account is not operated by December 15, 2022, the funds will return to the FGTS account, duly corrected and without prejudice to the worker.

Through the Caixa Tem application, it is possible to use credit to pay bills and bills, use the virtual debit card to pay in stores, websites or applications, in addition to shopping in establishments with the QR code on the machines.

The amount can also be transferred to other bank accounts of Caixa or other banks.

The worker who still wants to receive the credit can request the withdrawal on the FGTS application, available on Google Play and Apple Store, or at bank branches.

Those who do not wish to receive the extraordinary withdrawal can undo the automatic credit, through the same channels, until November 10, 2022.
