12 places to watch World Cup games in Rio de Janeiro

One of the most awaited seasons is coming! Every four years, the world – or participating countries – stop to follow the World Cup.

It is already a tradition to gather friends to cheer together, especially when the Brazilian Team enter the field. It’s the Rio de Janeiro , which was one of the liveliest venues for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, already breathes the competition. Many establishments and event organizers are preparing to welcome fans.

The competition starts on November 20th and runs until December 18th, when the grand final will take place. Brazil debuts on the 24th, against Serbia.

Copa Village – Jockey Club

One of the most talked about World Cup events in Rio de Janeiro is the Copa Village, which will take place at the Jockey Club Brasileiro. The project was born in the 2014 World Cup and returns in 2022 with a union of great party producers in the city.

The structure will have a large food court with several gastronomic options, toys such as a Ferris wheel, toboggan, zip-line and bungee jump and a covered stage with shows, in addition to the transmission of games on big screens.

Ginga is a party that will take place in different cities during the World Cup. In Rio de Janeiro, Ilha do Itanhangá, on Estrada da Barra da Tijuca, will be the big stage and will bring together names known by the public.

On November 24, in the match between Brazil and Serbia, Grupo Menos é Mais will be the big attraction. On the 28th, when the Selection plays against Switzerland, it will be the turn of DJ Dennis to stir the crowd. Singer Thiaguinho closes the group stage presentations on December 2, on the day of the game against Cameroon.

Fill The Cup – Planetarium

Since the 2010 World Cup, the Fill The Cup project has organized parties in Rio de Janeiro with the aim of bringing the public together to watch the games and then enjoy (or drown their sorrows, as they describe it). This year, they will follow the tradition. The party will take place at the Planetarium of Rio, located in Gávea.

The schedule of shows has different presentations by DJs after the matches. In this link, the public can opt for packages – which include the matches of Brazil, round of 16, quarter and final – or buy individual tickets. Fifa Fan Fest – Copacabana

Copacabana Beach, an emblematic point of celebrations and festivities in Rio de Janeiro, will host a FIFA Fan Fest stage, the official event of the Qatar Cup. Called the Brahma Rio Arena, it will have free admission and will broadcast all Brazilian matches in the competition.

A large structure with a stage, food court, bars, restrooms and medical posts will be built. The security scheme will also be reinforced, including surveillance cameras with facial recognition. The games will be broadcast on a 1,000-inch high-definition screen in Brazil.

In Brazil’s debut, on the 24th, against Serbia, singer Ferrugem will be the attraction of the event. On the 28th, against Serbia, it will be countryman Gustavo Mioto’s turn to stir the crowd. Skypark – Morro da Urca

From November 24th to December 18th, Morro da Urca will receive a new project for the World Cup. One of the most visited tourist spots in the world will receive a structure to receive the public during the competition games.

The Skypark will have six environments overlooking different points of Rio. Big screens with games, dance floor, gastronomy, entertainment activities, as well as bars scattered all over the place are part of the structure set up.

During these weeks, some artists already have confirmed presences. Among them are: Zeca Pagodinho, Bell Marques, Banda Eva and Fica Comigo. International names will also be present in the Line up.

On December 2nd, the venue will host Arena 5521. It will be the day of the match between Brazil and Cameroon, the last of the group stage. Hilton – Copacabana and Barra

At the Hilton Copacabana, Brazil’s games will be broadcast at the Clari Bar, located on the 4th floor, overlooking the beach.

Fans will find special promotions during the first matches of the Seleção, in the group stage. A double dose of caipirinha and Cacildis beer, as well as typical Brazilian drink and appetizer combos, created by chef Pablo Ferreyra are on the list. There are three combo options, worth R$ 80 + 10% fees. Each includes a drink and an aperitif.

Hilton Copacabana will also have packages for groups of at least 20 people, with menu options for all game times: breakfast, lunch, happy hour, pub, pizza and burger, with prices starting at R$65 per person. , with drinks on the side. At the Barra unit, the games will be broadcast on the big screen of the Lobby Bar, with a menu of appetizers, grilled foods, sandwiches and desserts, created by chef Felipe Moreira. Also located in Urca, at the foot of the Parque Bondinho Pão de Açúcar, Hills will broadcast all the matches of the Brazil Cup.
