12 pro-Iranian fighters killed in early morning airstrikes in eastern Syria

Twelve pro-Iranian fighters were killed on the night of Saturday to Sunday in airstrikes against their positions in eastern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. According to the statement, “12 pro-Iranian fighters were killed in airstrikes of unknown origin” in the city of Deir Ezzor and its eastern outskirts, as well as in the Bukamal region, near the border with Iraq. It is noted that several people were injured. The non-governmental organization, which is based in London but has a wide network of sources in Syria, reported five strikes near Deir Ezzor airport.
