A 12-year-old teenager died after being hit by a stray bullet while sleeping inside his home, on New Year’s Eve, in Serra (ES), in the metropolitan region of Vitória.
The victim’s father reported to the Military Police that the shot was fired by someone who was on the street where the residence is located, in the José de Anchieta II neighborhood.
The boy was taken to the emergency room at Vitória Children’s Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.
The Civil Police informed the CNN that the Specialized Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DEHPP) is investigating the case.
