An important event for the Honor brand took place today: the first flagships since independence from Huawei are presented – Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro. These are not only the first Honor models based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G platform, but also the first devices in a long time to receive support for Google services. For China, these services are unnecessarily necessary, but in the global market, without them, one can not count on serious commercial success.

Both models received curved displays (they are bent at the edge of the body at an angle of 75 °) OLED with a frame rate of 120 fps and a resolution of Full HD +. The screen diagonal of the Honor 50 is 6.57 inches, the Honor 50 Pro is 6.72 inches. The fingerprint scanners are, of course, built into the screens.

The younger model is characterized by a thickness of 7.78 mm and a weight of 175 grams, the thickness and weight of the Honor 50 Pro is 8.05 mm and 187 grams.

Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro are the first models of the company with the Qualcomm platform and support for proprietary GPU Turbo X and LINK Turbo technologies: before that they were implemented only in smartphones based on the Kirin SoC. The Snapdragon 778G is paired with 8-12 GB of RAM and 128-256 GB of flash storage.

Front cameras are embedded. The Honor 50 has one module with a 32MP sensor, while the Honor 50 Pro has two modules with 32MP and 12MP sensors. Interestingly, the second is equipped with a lens with a focal length of 18 mm and is designed for video shooting (Vlog support is declared for it).
The main cameras of these models are exactly the same. The main sensor – 1 / 1.52-inch optical format, 108 megapixel resolution – is complemented by a lens with an aperture of F / 1.9. The rest of the sensors have a resolution of 8 megapixels (connected to an ultra wide-angle lens), 2 megapixels (for macro shooting) and 2 megapixels. The main camera of smartphones supports 10x digital zoom when shooting photos and 6x when shooting videos.
The Honor 50 has a 4,300mAh battery with 66W charging support, while the Honor 50 Pro uses a 4,000mAh battery with 100W charging support. As a result, the first model is fully charged in 45 minutes, the second in 25 minutes.

Both models are equipped with NFC adapters and run Android 11 with Magic UI 4.2. The prices have already been announced and are as follows:
- Honor 50: 8/128 GB – $ 420, 8/256 GB – $ 470, 12/256 GB – $ 530;
- Honor 50 Pro: 8/256 GB – $ 580, 12/256 GB – $ 625.

You can pre-order the Honor 50 or Honor 50 Pro in China from today. Real sales start on June 25th.
