Dylan Minnette — Clay Jensen, from “13 Reasons Why” — spoke in an interview with the “Zach Sang Show” about his career moment. The actor took a break from acting in 2022 to dedicate himself to his band Wallows.
According to him, acting began to seem like “just a job”, which made him change the direction of his life in art. “The only way that's going to happen is if I put 100% of my time and energy into this, take it very seriously and show the world that we all take this very seriously,” Minnette commented on her career in music.
“I was lucky to be successful [atuando]. I was in '13 Reasons Why' and it was very popular, it definitely peaked in my acting,” said the actor.
Even though he is focused on music now, Dylan did not deny that he may return to the screen in the future. “I feel like I have something to offer, and that's probably acting. I feel like I’m starting to be inspired by that again.” He added: “At some point, when we've fulfilled our Wallows obligations and we're all ready to take a break as a band, that's when I'll have the perfect inspiration to do something.”
The musical group has just released its third studio album, “Model”. Formed in 2011, it has two other members besides Minnette — Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston — a trio who met during their school days and formed the band when they were still teenagers. The band Wallows performed at Lollapalooza São Paulo in 2023.
