In view of the heavy rains that hit Bahia, governors of 15 states and the Federal District announced that they will send aid to Bahian municipalities that are suffering from the consequences of the floods. State governments will mobilize teams specialized in rescue operations and materials to assist in the rescue of victims.
The federative units that have already confirmed their help in the rescue campaign are: Roraima, Rio de Janeiro, Pará, Sergipe, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Ceará, São Paulo, Piauí, Maranhão, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Goiás and the Federal District.
In addition, this Tuesday (28), President Jair Bolsonaro published a provisional measure (MP) allowing the federal government to open an extraordinary credit of R$ 200 million for the reconstruction of states and highways affected by the rains. The Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Freitas, told CNN that R$ 80 million of the amount will be destined for Bahia.
The acting governor of São Paulo, Rodrigo garcia (PSDB), disclosed that it authorized the sending of a task force to assist the victims. “In all, 36 professionals from the Fire Department and the Military Police Aviation Command will travel to Ilhéus to work in an integrated operation with other security forces,” he said.
Through Twitter, the governor of Piauí, Wellington Days (PT), lamented the situation in Bahia and said that his government is “helping with teams and equipment”.
