The actor Patrick Swayze who died in September 2009 at the age of 57 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, “will remain a star forever,” his former manager said, Kate Edwards remembering the actor on the 15th anniversary of his death.
In an interview with Us Weekly magazine, the businesswoman celebrated the legacy of the star, famous for his unforgettable roles in classics such as “Dirty Dancing“ and “Ghost – The Other Side of Life“ saying his on-screen presence continues to win fans around the world.
“When you go to see a Patrick Swayze movie, you know before a single scene starts that he’s going to deliver. He’s going to take care of everything and take care of you,” she said. “It’s that promise and commitment to the viewer that keeps us coming back again and again, and it’s why he will remain a movie star forever.”
Kate believes her boss was a tireless “adventurer” in both his personal and professional life. “Patrick was the ultimate risk-taker. He pushed himself to the limit in almost everything he did. He enjoyed that extreme and the adrenaline rush it gave him. It fueled him more than any food,” she revealed.
Patrick, who was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1991, was also honored by his longtime assistant Rosemary Hygate. “He was smart, funny, articulate and incredibly talented in so many different disciplines. The world lost an incredible human being when he passed away far too young,” she said.
