The Russian death toll estimate is slightly lower than that revealed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last February, when he said 180,000 Russian soldiers had been killed in the two years of war. The United Kingdom, for its part, estimated at the end of April that some 450,000 Russians have been killed or injured in Ukraine.
