MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 1300 single-chip system, which is expected to appear for the first time in the new smartphone of the OnePlus Nord line, and will also appear in devices from Redmi and other manufacturers.
The single-chip system, which is manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process, features an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores (one at up to 3GHz and three at up to 2.6GHz) and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2 GHz. The graphical process is the 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9.

Dimensity 1300 supports displays up to 168Hz and resolutions up to 2520 x 1080 pixels. Also, the platform can work with 16 GB of LPDDR4x RAM at a speed of 4266 Mbps. Dimensity 1300 supports UFS 3.1 flash memory.
The Dimensity 1300 supports cameras up to 200MP and can shoot video in portrait mode, correctly blurring the background when there are multiple people in the frame. 4K HDR video recording is also supported. There is hardware accelerated AV1 decoding for faster 4K streaming.

The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 should deliver performance on par with Qualcomm’s most powerful 7-series chip, the Snapdragon 778G.
