The São Paulo DOM, by Alex Atala, took third place on the podium, behind only the Peruvians Central and Maido, both in the capital Lima. Also making its presence felt in the top 10 is the Peanut, by chef Helena Rizzo, who presents authorial and contemporary Brazilian cuisine. He appears in seventh place.

Outside São Paulo, Lasai, in Rio de Janeiro, came in 22nd place. Mocotó, captained by chef Rodrigo Oliveira in the northern part of the city of São Paulo, followed immediately after, which advanced ten positions in relation to last year’s list and came in 23rd place.

Rodrigo and his wife, historian Adriana Salay, were also previously awarded The Macallan Icon award for the social impact of the Quebrada Alimentada project.

This year’s awards took place simultaneously in seven countries in Latin America, including Brazil, which celebrated achievements at Teatro B32, on Avenida Faria Lima, in São Paulo. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ranking was created based on the accumulation of votes from all previous editions, between the years 2013 and 2021.

New addresses from different capitals are also in the ranking and add freshness to the names already mentioned. Glouton, from Belo Horizonte, by chef Leonardo Paixão, took 68th place and Soeta, a restaurant in Vitória (ES) for contemporary cuisine that excels in local ingredients, appears in 77th position.
