Reliance Jio announced last year that Google had bought a 7.7% stake in the company. It also became known that the two companies will work together to create a low-cost Android smartphone.
Now it is reported that Qualcomm will play a key role in the creation of this entry-level smartphone. With budget smartphones, Jio is trying to turn regular phone users, especially JioPhone users, into smartphone users.
Rajen Vagadia, President of Qualcomm India, said the company will continue to collaborate and support Jio in providing components for devices across different price points. Reliance Jio’s low-cost smartphones are expected to use Qualcomm 400 series SoCs.

Earlier it was expected that the first joint smartphone Reliance Jio and Google will be presented in December last year, but the release of the device was postponed. The presentation is now expected in the first quarter.
This smartphone should only cost $ 55. Sources add that Reliance Jio will release about 200 million of these smartphones within two years in hopes of attracting new users.
