The book “Fire & Blood” (Ed. Suma, 2018), from George R.R. Martin which inspired the series “The House of the Dragon” returned to the bestseller list in Brazil in July, according to a survey conducted by Publishnews, based on consultations with more than 30 bookstore chains in the country. The title is in 20th position.
The plot is set centuries before “The Game of Thrones” originally published in 1996, when House Targaryen—the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria—took up residence on Dragonstone. The legendary Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, follows the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold the seat, until the civil war that nearly destroyed their dynasty.
The book returns to the list in the same period as the second season of the series “The House of the Dragon” is on the air. New episodes are released weekly on Sundays on HBO and Max. The production is a spin-off of “Game of Thrones” which is also based on a work by George RR Martin.
