203 Hamas hostages in Gaza Strip, Israeli army says – Still finds bodies at border

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said today that the military has so far informed the families of 203 hostages that their loved ones are being held in the Gaza Strip. According to him, the number is not final, as the IDF is constantly investigating new information about Israelis missing since the October 7 attack.

He added that in some of the cases, the families were told that the military suspected they were being held by Hamas. But in other cases, he says the military isn’t so sure they’re hostages.

Hagari said the IDF has also ruled out some cases and informed families that their loved ones are not being held hostage.

The army has swept the Gaza border area for bodies of missing Israelis, locating somewhile many bodies are still waiting to be identified.
