25% faster than AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT and 13% slower than GeForce RTX 3070. Radeon RX 6700 XT fully tested in 3DMark

A detailed test of the Radeon RX 6700 XT has appeared on the Web, on the basis of which you can make a more or less complete picture of the performance of this video card in games. It should be noted right away that the honor of this model in 3DMark was defended by Sapphire RX 6700 XT NITRO + with factory overclocking, so the result of the reference Radeon RX 6700 XT in 3DMark will obviously be more modest. On the other hand, if there is a choice (and nowadays – if, in principle, there are video cards on sale), then users prefer non-reference models with an improved cooling system and, as a rule, factory overclocking.

To begin with, comparing the RX 6700 XT NITRO + with its older sister, the RX 6800 XT NITRO +. Despite the fact that the older model has 80% more cores (4608 versus 2560), its performance is only 52% higher. This is easily explained by the higher frequencies at which the Navi 22 GPUs will operate (this is the GPU that the RX 6700 XT NITRO + is built on).

At the same time, the new product is faster than its predecessor, the Radeon RX 5700 XT, by 25%, but slower than the GeForce RTX 3070 by 13% and the Radeon RX 6800 by 26%. In general, the Radeon RX 6700 XT will have to compete primarily with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, and here the question of cost comes to the fore.

If the Radeon RX 6700 XT in reality turns out to be more affordable than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (and it almost equaled the price of the RTX 3070 on the wave of excitement), then it is guaranteed success. True, the price factor is important, but not the only one. It is also necessary that the video cards are actually available. And with this, according to preliminary data, there will be problems.
