THE 2nd part of the film “Wicked” which hits theaters in 2025, has a new title. On the feature film’s social networks, it was shared that the sequel will be called “Wicked: For Good” .
The highly anticipated Broadway adaptation hit theaters in November. The film, starring Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) and Ariana Grande (Glinda) depicts the first act of the play about the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the South.
According to what was released by Universal Pictures, the second part of the film is scheduled for release in November 21, 2025 in the United States. In Brazil, it should arrive a day earlier, in November 20th.
“Wicked: For Good” will also feature two songs unreleased, that is, that are not part of the musical of the Broadway . The information was confirmed by Jon M. Chu, 45, director of both productions.
“Wicked” was a book released in 1995 and adapted for the stage in 2003. Its original stars included Idina Menzel as Elphaba and Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda. The original Broadway production won three Tony Awards, while the soundtrack album received a Grammy.
