“3-Body Problem”: Netflix announces second season of the series

A Netflix announced this Wednesday (15) that the series “3-Body Problem ” will be continued in a second season. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the company wrote: “Already prepare your neurons because the conclusion of this story is coming.” There is no release date yet.

The science fiction series premiered at the end of March and is based on the trilogy written by Chinese author Liu Cixin, whose first volume bears the name of the series. In the first week after its release, the season was among the most watched productions on streaming, with a total of 15.6 million views in seven days.

In the story, an extraterrestrial civilization — the San-Ti — tries to invade Earth, as they will be doomed if they remain on their planet. The planet is located in a solar system that has three suns, and therefore oscillates between stable and chaotic eras. The name of the series comes from one of the best-known mathematical challenges in the field of physics, which continues to be unable to be solved by scientists, the same problem that affects the planet of the San-Ti.

The cast includes Jovan Adepo (“Watchmen”), Rosalind Chao (“Better Things”), Eiza González (“Getting Away”), Jess Hong (“Inked”), Marlo Kelly (“Dare Me”), Jonathan Pryce (“The Crown”), Eve Ridley (“Peppa Pig”), Ben Schnetzer (“Y: The Last Man”), Alex Sharp (“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”), Sea Shimooka (“ Pink Skies Ahead”), Saamer Usmani (“Succession”), John Bradley (“Game of Thrones”) and Benedict Wong (“Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”).
