3 million in 10 years: Tesla electric car sales since 2012 revealed

Tesla has once again confirmed its title as the leading manufacturer of electric vehicles. Over the past ten years, Elon Musk’s company has sold almost three million of its electric cars.

From 2012 through the second quarter of 2022, Tesla has shipped a total of 2,899,877 electric vehicles, according to journalists. According to Bloomberg forecasts, the Tesla electric car sales mark of 3 million will be overcome by the end of July or in August.

In the second quarter of 2022, Tesla produced 258,580 vehicles. And according to the results of the first half of this year, deliveries of electric cars of the American brand amounted to 564,000 units against 384,200 for the same period last year. By the way, this year Tesla plans to deliver more than one million electric vehicles to the global market, which is twice as many as in 2021.

It should be noted that most of the Tesla cars delivered this year were produced at the company’s factory in Shanghai. In the last month alone, the Chinese company has produced more than 70,000 vehicles. But the gigafactory in Berlin cannot yet boast of such success – now only the Model Y crossover is assembled there, and then in an amount of no more than 1000 units per week.
