A 3-year-old girl, whose name was not released, is in serious condition after being shot in the head in Rio de Janeiro, on Thursday (7).
According to the city council of Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense, the child arrived at the Adão Pereira Nunes Hospital brought by a Federal Highway Police (PRF) vehicle.
The hospital management reported that the child was admitted to the hospital with bleeding from the scalp, being sedated and then intubated.
After evaluation, she underwent a surgical procedure. According to the city of Duque de Caxias, the child is in the hospital’s Intensive Care Center (CTI).
In a statement, the Rio de Janeiro Military Police said they did not participate in the incident.
