$ 300,000 worth of works made “feathers” from a gallery in Toronto

Four projects worth a total of about $ 300,000 were stolen from the Toronto-based Galerie de Bellefeuille earlier this week.

The robbers entered the gallery around midnight on April 19, breaking the glass door and left with the work “Lovers on Horseback” by Sophie Ryder and the famous androgynous bronze sculpture by Hannie Beaumont. The masked robbers managed to extract two more sculptures, a Buddha and an elephant, creations of the German artist, before escaping in their vehicle.

Although they took valuable works of art with them, the masked robbers escaped with a not luxurious but spacious Toyota Sienna without license plates.

Toronto Police posted photos of stolen works, as well as photographs from security camera footage showing the suspects wearing masks and dressed in black, except for one of the three, who apparently could not find a fully monochrome ensemble.

The Toronto news network CP24 published the details of the robbery on Twitter. Many users have predicted that the artwork will soon appear on the internet if resold.

The perpetrators have not been identified and Toronto police are asking the public to let them know if they have any information related to the robbery.
