$350 for Core i5-13600KF: insiders reveal prices for new Intel processors

Today, September 26, on the UK site of Amazon, users immediately discovered four positions with Intel Raptor Lake processors of the 13th generation, which were marked as “Temporarily out of stock.” Soon, these positions, of course, were deleted, but, as it turned out later, insiders have more interesting information. Shortly after this event, a user under the nickname momomo_us posted a screenshot on social networks with quite interesting information that he managed to make on Amazon – it captures not only the names of new processors, but also their prices. This apparently happened before the platform’s vigilant staff hid the positions from the audience.

The price is in pounds, as the screenshot is from Amazon in the UK, but in all other regions the price will be the same, only in dollars

In total, four processors of the Raptor Lake generation were seen in the Amazon for the UK – we are talking about the flagship model i9-13900KF, i7-13700 in two versions (with and without integrated graphics) and i5-13600KF. The latest processor is probably the most affordable option that Intel implements support for multiplier overclocking. This means that the company will definitely have more affordable processor options, but they may come out later than these four models, plus it is no longer possible to increase the processor clock speed in the case of models below the i5-13600KF. However, this is a standard tactic for Intel – it has done this with chips for many generations.

Actually, it’s worth starting with the Intel Core i5-13600KF – it was this line of chips that users most often called the best choice because of decent performance for a reasonable price. In the new generation, the processor will receive 6 P-cores (productive cores of the new generation) and 8 E-cores (energy efficient cores). At the same time, its price will be $ 350 – Intel Core i5-12600KF, for example, is sold for $ 270. Accordingly, the rumor that Intel decided to significantly raise the cost of chips in the new generation has been confirmed, albeit unofficially so far. A similar situation is observed for more productive solutions.

For example, the Intel Core i7-13700K processor (with integrated graphics) will sell for $550 – the Core i7-12700K costs $420. The Core i7-13700KF version, according to insider information, will go on sale for $520, while a fellow from the previous generation is sold for $400. But the biggest price increase between generations will be noticed by potential i9-13900KF buyers – the fact is that a chip from the same top line without integrated graphics is sold for $580, while the new product will be sent to the shelves at a price of $750. This means that the price has increased by $170 from generation to generation – just crazy.

And tomorrow, September 27, Intel will probably tell more about the new processors, and also allow journalists to publish the first tests of fresh chips. But there is a feeling that they will not justify this increase in price.
