Huawei believes DriveONE is a good one-stop solution that not only simplifies the development of electric vehicles, but also makes them cheaper. And judging by the fact that the Seres SF5 Free Expedition Edition is actually converted from a regular gasoline car, DriveONE is not very demanding on the layout of the car. All these advantages of the platform should be of interest to other companies thinking about transferring their line to electric traction.

In terms of dimensions, the Seres SF5 Free Expedition Edition does not differ from the usual gasoline version, which is called the Seres SF5: the wheelbase is 2875 mm, the length, width and height are, respectively, 4700, 1930 and 1625 mm. It is driven by two 350 hp electric motors. The range, measured according to NEDC standards, is over 1,000 km. But in reality, it will be much less and is unlikely to exceed 850 km in the WLTP cycle.

Seres SF5 Free Expedition Edition is equipped with cameras and ultrasonic sensors, there is even a radar, but the autonomous driving system at its L2 + level can hardly be called advanced. However, the novelty is estimated quite modestly for the record declared autonomy – exactly 40,000 US dollars. When sales start, the source does not report.
