A total of 40% of Brazilian women still do not have a fixed vote for a candidate for the presidency of the Republic in 2022, according to the Genial/Quaest poll. The group, which claims that “it can change its presidential candidate if something happens”, can define the presidential elections in Brazil, according to the survey.
The data, released this Friday (17), detail that 50% of women intend to vote for former President Lula, while 22% intend to vote for President Jair Bolsonaro, who is running for reelection.
Regarding the concerns of voters, the survey highlights the economy (43%), health/pandemic (17%), social issues (13%), corruption (9%) and violence (8%).
For 8% of them, other factors not listed are of concern and 2% did not know how to respond or did not respond.
Also according to the survey, 51% of women consider Bolsonaro’s management negative and 65% think that the president was wrong more than he was right during the new coronavirus pandemic.
For 51% of those interviewed, the chances of voting for a candidate who would publicly defend the right to abortion would drop.
In April, PT pre-candidate Lula defended the procedure, stating that “[o aborto] should be turned into a public health issue” and that everyone should have the right and not the shame.
Genial/Quaest’s quantitative survey was conducted June 2-5 with 2,000 women. Data such as age, education, family income, religion and whether women voters receive the Auxílio Brasil benefit were taken into account.
The margin of error estimates two percentage points more or less, according to Genial/Quaest.
