Full of seaside restaurants, quiet beaches and others perfect for those looking for action, as well as attractions perfect for going with the family, the city is made for all age groups, from children to adults, from couples to singles.

The good thing is that you can get to know a little bit of everything in a two-day itinerary there. Want to see?

Day 1

To get started, start your visit with a hearty breakfast. A good option is to enjoy the breakfast at Felissimo Exclusive Hotel , a boutique hotel with just 11 suites. On site, there is a small village surrounded by the hotel’s lush garden in an oasis of five thousand square meters, strategically located on a hill between Balneário Camboriú and the neighboring city, Itajaí.

You don’t have to stay there to also enjoy lunch at the bistro, which bears the same name as the hotel. A good choice is the chef’s suggestion David Bianchini the classic cod lagareiro – people from all Brazilian states go to taste the dish.

After the reinforced coffee, the first tour can be the FG Big Wheel . At 82 meters above sea level, the attraction is considered the largest cable-stayed Ferris wheel in Latin America and has become the most photographed place in Balneário. From up there, you can have a panoramic view of the city.

After seeing the city from above, a mandatory tour is to walk along the shore of Praia Central, where the widening took place recently, which took the strip of sand from 25 to 70 meters. During the tour, the tip is to stop at the kiosks spread along the shore, which is 5.8 km in total.

After this walk between the sea and the concrete, the tip is to walk to Rua 916 and get to know the trendy Pão de Ló Boutique a café with playful scenography, a scenario designed by the architect from Santa Catarina Vanessa Larre which created a cozy and busy place.

At peak times, the place has a queue, but it is worth it, after all, the place has the best coxinha in town and red velvet, which is the flagship – a recipe kept under lock and key by the chefs. Tomas Santos and Vanessa Dai Pra .

On arrival or departure from the venue, don’t forget to throw a coin and make a wish at the fountain of wishes, a fountain that is right at the entrance. It is said that the fountain is miraculous and has been fulfilling the wishes of the regulars.

In the afternoon how about a family program? A fun attraction is the Oceanic Aquarium . With 2,500 square meters of built area and about one million liters of water, the aquarium houses animals that were also rescued from adverse situations (such as

otters), or born under human care (penguins) and are no longer able to return to their natural habitat.

Today, there are about 140 species and more than 1,500 animals. Highlight for scary sharks and cute otters.

For dinner, the best option is to run to Passeio San Miguel, on the bustling Avenida Brasil. The boulevard is the stage for themed events, music, fashion, culture and gastronomy festivals and has restaurants for all tastes.

Highlight for the brand new gastrobar MaKa a venture of the couple Bojan and Venise Petrovic: he is a Serbian chef, she, an executive from Curitiba with a degree in tourism and hospitality, both with stints in important restaurants in several countries, and in the last seven years in Qatar.

The name MaKa is a reference to Peruvian maca, a root considered a superfood due to its numerous health-beneficial properties. “We write with K, which is how you write in Serbia, it’s our Serbian touch on Latin cuisine”, says Venise.

On the menu, among the creations of chef Bojan Petrovic, she highlights the Venezuelan cachapas: corn pancakes with Venezuelan fresh cheese, crema fresco and pico de gallo.

After dinner, how about that last stroll at night, walking along the lively Avenida Atlântica and checking out the seaside, always buzzing with its bars that open into the early hours of the morning? The waterfront is fully monitored by the police, so it’s a safe walk, which is rare these days.

Day 2

You can start the second day by enjoying the breakfast of the Rustic bread a hotspot opened 6 years ago with the proposal to be a more artisanal bakery.

Chef Karina Gustmann Hradec prefers to be called a baker and says her inspiration comes from childhood memories in the small Santa Catarina town of Pomerode. “I remember my Oma [avó em alemão] bringing the much talked about affection to the palate”, says the chef, who only works with French flour and butter.

After the enhanced coffee the next attraction is the Unipraias Park . The tour begins by boarding one of the 47 modern aerial cable cars connecting three stations on the south side of the Balneário Camboriú beachfront, going up to Morro da Aguada and down to Laranjeiras beach, the only one in the world to connect two beaches.

In the 202 thousand m² of total area, with a preservation area of 132 thousand m², there are attractions for all tastes and ages, serving both the visitor looking for postcards to admire, as well as those eager for adventure and adrenaline.

The space is run by chef Dudu Poerner, who has been standing out with his creations of haute cuisine from Santa Catarina. Dudu was the runner-up of the reality show “Mestre do Sabor”, in 2019. A tip from the chef is to taste the Polvo na Brasa, which comes with a vinaigrette of butter beans, romesco, kefir and a thousand cassava leaves.

After this gastronomic experience, a drive through the Interbeach Highway might be a good one. The 13.5 km road reveals beautiful landscapes between coves and hills. Winding, but full of charms, the path passes through 6 beaches.

The best known of these is the Pine Beach considered the first nudist beach in Brazil and which is part of the international itinerary of nudist beaches, attracting naturalists from all over the world.

The tour through Interpraias, passes through the Barra neighborhood , the region that gave rise to the municipality. There, on top of a hill, is the small and charming Chapel of Santo Amaro, one of the oldest in Santa Catarina, built between 1849 and 1863.

The construction was built in raw stone and mortar based on whale oil. Its tiles are handcrafted, with characteristics of Portuguese architecture. Inside it has images of patron saints donated by the Portuguese Royal Family. In 1998, it became a State and Municipal Historic Heritage Site.

If you want to stay in the city, why not discover the cultural scene through art galleries? Two stand out, which, in addition to national and international names, also represent local artists: the Cosmos Gallery , which brings together a wide and diversified collection of contemporary art, promoting periodic exhibitions of talented artists. And MIU, which currently has the largest collection of street art in the south of the country.
