5.6 magnitude earthquake reaches North Afghanistan

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan on Wednesday (16)-at the local time, the European-Mediterranean (EMSC) was said.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 121 km, according to EMSC, and the epicenter was 164 km east of Baghlan, a city with a population of about 108,000 inhabitants.

The EMSC initially reported a magnitude of 6.4 of the earthquake.

There is no victim information so far.
