“Everything is Rio”, by Carla Madeira

With a mature, accurate and at the same time delicate and poetic narrative, the novel chronicles the story of the couple Dalva and Venâncio, who has life transformed after a tragic loss, the result of her husband’s sick jealousy, and Lucy, the most depraved and coveted prostitute of the city, who enters their way, forming a love triangle.

In the ear of the book, Martha Medeiros writes: “ Everything is Rio It is a masterpiece, and there is no exaggeration in what I say. It is one of those books that, when finished, makes you want to start over, at the same moment, this time to take time in each line, to taste each sentence, let yourself embrace the poetry of prose. In the first reading, this slower delivery is almost impossible, as the current of events takes us to the last page without giving us a chance to breathe. We need to be up or we drown. ”

The metaphor of the river reveals itself through the narrative that flows – sometimes intense, sometimes milder – uninterrupted, but also through sweat, saliva, blood, tears, semen, and Carla does it without being appealing, without cheap sentimentality, with the skill that only the best writers have.

“Women who run with wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés

The wolves were painted with a black brush in fairy tales and even today scare defenseless girls. But they were not always seen as terrible and violent creatures. In ancient Greece and in Rome, the animal was the consort of Artemis, the hunter, and affectionately breastfed the heroes. Jungian analyst Clarissa Pinkola Estés believes that in our society women have been treated in a similar way. In investigating the crushing of female instinctive nature, Clarissa discovered the key to the sense of impotence of the modern woman. His book, women who run with wolves, was for a year on the bestseller list in the United States. Classic of Studies on Sacred Female and Feminism, the book is the first in a series of Rocco longsellers to gain edition with new graphic design and hardcover.

“The year I said yes”, from Shonda Rhimes

The year I said yes It is a moving, inspiring, fun and deeply personal account. Shonda Rhimes invite the reader to rethink their attitudes and give himself the power to change his own life forever with a single answer: “Yes.”

It was during a family dinner that Shonda’s older sister told her six thermal words: You never say yes to nothing . Days later, her sister’s statement had not yet abandoned her mind and she realized that the “no” was just a bass. No “no” to Shonda could even represent security, but – contradictorily – resulted in an unfortunate life.

Rhimes then began what he called “yes”: she would commit to, for a year, saying “yes” for everything, go to her career, go to intimate life. Of interviews and speeches in public until it takes care of health and dealing with the most difficult feelings. She had to reformulate the way she dealt with herself and with those around her so that she could find the most precious good of her life: her true self.
