5 Easy Ways to Recover Deleted Files and Contacts on Android

Sometimes, due to negligence, we may delete the necessary photos, documents or contacts. Not always they are saved in the cloud, and there is no recycle bin on the phone. Therefore, there is a need for file recovery, and today you will learn how you can get back deleted files.

Tenorshare UltData

You can restore phone files through PC programs. The first of these is Tenorshare UltData, which can restore Google Disk backups, WhatsApp and Android data. Root rights are not required for this.

We connect the phone to the computer via USB, turn on the developer mode on it and select “Restore Android Data”. Next, follow the detailed instructions to enable USB debugging. After you need to select the types of data that you want to recover.

Having made a choice, we will be asked to enable the installation of applications via USB. You will need to install the Connector application, it will only take a couple of seconds. The next step is to allow access to all categories that are recoverable. The program will scan your device and show everything that is on your phone and everything that it was able to restore. After scanning, I recommend using filters to quickly find the desired file.

FonePaw Android Data Recovery

Another program for data recovery, but only for Android. The process is the same as with the program above: we connect the phone to the computer, turn on USB debugging, download the application and select categories, which are a little more here.

Unlike Tenorshare, this program does not scan everything, but you can use the deep analysis feature to get more files. Of the filters here, only displaying exclusively deleted files.

In addition to downloading programs to a PC and playing with developer settings, you can use an easier way – download a recovery program to your phone. Root rights are required for them to work correctly.

Undeleter – Recover Files

The file recovery process starts immediately after starting the program. Undeleter can recover most files in various formats, including audio files, video files, photos, SMS, and documents. The recovered data can be sorted by date, type and size. If you know the approximate size of the desired file, then you can specify it in the filter to search for files smaller than the specified size. The necessary data can be saved to Google Drive, Dropbox or phone. In the free version, you can only do this after watching ads.

File Recovery – Restore Files

File Recovery scans the entire phone and shows a lot more files than the program above. Only photos, videos, audio and documents can be returned from the deleted one. The application also has a recycle bin with recovered files and a file protection feature that will automatically be deleted after 3 days by default. The deletion period can be customized as desired. To quickly find the data you need, there are filters by size and period. You will have to pay for the restoration of files by viewing ads.

DiskDigger

The app can restore non-rooted photos, but you still can’t get them back in their original size. You can also try to restore the video. If you are not sure whether you found the file in the list, then you can click on “File Properties”, which will enlarge the picture or video and allow you to find out the size and extension of the file. For a more convenient and faster search, you can specify the maximum file size and its date. The recovered data can be saved to a local folder on your device, sent to yourself by mail, Google Disk or messenger. There is a paid version, DiskDigger Pro, which removes ads and allows you to recover more files, including documents and music.
