5 iconic beaches to go to in September

Choosing 5 beaches in Italy is clearly an exercise in style. The Italian coast extends for 8,300 kilometers, 70% of which are made up of beaches, for a total length of 3,270 kilometers and 2 regional records. Sicily has the largest number of kilometers of sandy coasts, while Calabria has the largest number of square kilometers of beaches, almost 20% of the national surface. In all this wealth, we have only chosen five. We have focused on the iconic beaches, the ones that everyone, sooner or later, would like to see (if we have not already done so) and that we would like to see like this, beautiful and without crowds.

Unimaginable scenarios in high season, especially for famous beaches like these, which in August are almost infrequent for human density. Only now, in September, do they return to offer their most intact soul.

The starting point is not a simple list of beauty, but it is that, in front of this beauty, to think of an increasingly respectful way to travel. Choose the off-season periods so as not to burden everyone and all together on the places and communities, and to ensure that our stay leaves no trace: no cigarette butts, litter, plastic bag, no sunscreen that is not environmentally friendly . Choosing a water bottle instead of a plastic bottle, leaving fish, octopuses and jellyfish in the sea, respecting the protected areas, preferring hotels, restaurants and structures that respect the environment. In September, alone or almost alone, on these beaches of moving beauty, silence and rediscovered peace will be our guide to the future. Greener.
