5 reasons why we love (and hate) autumn

Here we are! If sudden thunderstorms were not a sufficient indicator, today we can confirm it: autumn has arrived!

The season has come that a large part of the world loves madly and the other half would prefer to jump as a block. It is a middle season, an introduction to winter, a sort of psychological (and even more physical) preparation for the arrival of the cold. Autumn more than any other season brings with it charm and annoyances. Why do we love and hate him so much?

1) It’s cold again but you sleep better
The warm rays of the sun give way to a cool breeze. The first sore throats and chapped lips also appear. Going out with an umbrella in your bag becomes a must because we could catch a downpour at any moment. Sleeping in your underwear is no longer an option, and we might as well put a blanket over the sheets. If nothing else, those mosquito bitches are gone and you can sleep without the fan noise in your ears all night: the transition from bathroom to bed can be traumatic, but once under the blanket you will sink into the mattress in a gradual state of pleasure. , without external interference. Except maybe the sound of the rain, which is better than the ASMR.

2) No shorts but many more choices for outfits
Goodbye shorts at the height of the genitals, open shoes or fluttering blouses. Until a few months ago, two pieces of fabric were enough and we already felt sufficiently healthy and ready to leave the house. Now it becomes more complicated, but if nothing else we can indulge ourselves more: scarves, caps, wraparound cardigans, sleeveless vests to combine with shirts, velvet pants, ankle boots and boots. Autumn is a friend of details, of bright colors with which to immerse yourself in the park towards the golden hour and force those with you to be photographed surrounded by falling leaves. Your Instagram will thank you.

3) Everything is dying except the pumpkins
Alas, not everything is always sepia and aesthetic. On the contrary, plants and trees are dying, the leaves are drying up, there is mud and puddles everywhere, put there specifically to ruin that flawless outfit. But do you know what else comes with the festival of the dead? That’s right, Halloween! Hate her together with the masked brats who come to ask for food at your door or love her because it is an opportunity to dress up in absurd costumes and hallucinatory tricks. Like it or not, Halloween is the rebellious and crazy alternative to Christmas, only it lasts one night and you can do without relatives.

4) Red (Taylor’s Version)
If there is an album that screams autumn season it surely is Red from Taylor Swift: this November 19th, on the other hand, we can rediscover it with the highly anticipated Taylor’s Version. It’s the perfect musical background to romanticize your walk in the park, imagining you forgot your scarf not at home, but in Jake Gyllenhaal’s sister’s washing machine.

5) Melancholy assured but with hot chocolate
Autumn, in all of this, brings sadness. Little or a lot, it depends on the circumstances. They are months of recovery, end of holidays, return to routine or at least an attempt to create it and deal with the last months of the year. As if that weren’t enough, the days are shorter and it gets dark right away. Taken badly? Yes, but in the meantime you can wear comfortable woolen socks (if they are not comfortable, it means that not only the right ones) and sip a Ciobar, or a malvia herbal tea, or a tea, or any infusion to appease the inner turmoil. Maybe enjoying the company of a special person, or why not, your own? Comfortable, covered, welcoming every form of comfort. Perhaps this slight melancholy is not always so unpleasant.
