5 TV series to recover during the Christmas holidays

Panettone to dispose of? here it is 5 TV series to watch in the Christmas holidays for your marathons between sofa-fridge-bathroom-bed.

It is precisely in this period, in which the days stand out from each other, as well as the pajamas mingle with the duvet which in turn mingles with the cat and the clothes with which I should go out for a second to get some air, that the serial viewer in me comes out.

And what am I doing here, then? But of course to recommend 5 super classic series to watch during the Christmas holidays.

DUTY INTRODUCTION: the titles you will find are, in fact, classics. So you will not read about Squid Game o di Tear off along the edges, but of those series that people have always told you to watch, you have not seen them for your bias, indeed perhaps they have become almost a burden, a target of hatred, but that if your friends and quite a few millions of people in the world appreciate, perhaps a little more serious attempt could be made. So if you’ve seen them before, take these tips as well-spent rewatch tips.

1- PEAKY BLINDERS

I could not start with Peaky Blinders, the series that I always mention when people ask me “What could I watch now?”. The story is that of these good guys of Birmingham in the early ‘900 that, between sensational entries on the scene at the rhythm of Arctic Monkeys and a WOW style, they run more than a half-illegal betting house. The only flaw: season 3 is a bit more difficult for me. But do me and do yourself the favor of crossing the cliff and moving on.

3 reasons to watch it:

– because if you see it in its original language, you won’t stop talking like them. We bet that in the third episode seen in a row you will walk around the house showing off an impeccable British pronunciation screaming “BY ORDER OF THE PEAKY BLINDERS ???”

– for the story set in the early decades of the 20th century combined, between truth and fiction, with contemporary rock songs that will make you jump up from that sofa (starting from the theme song)

– per Thomas Shelby. But here I don’t feel like adding anything else.

Gender in my opinion: romantic thriller

Where to see it: Netflix

You will like it if you have seen: Sons of Anarchy, Ozark

2- LOST

You know when we say «Eh if there hadn’t been i Beatles wouldn’t there be half of today’s singers? ». Here, almost the same thing can be said of the TV series with Lost. So I respect, in the meantime. The story is so crazy that I don’t even try to tell it to you. I only tell you this: a plane crashes on an island that seems deserted. But of course it isn’t. And it is not that there is a nice tribe to welcome these poor wretches, whom you will learn to love one by one. There is something you have NEVER seen.

3 reasons to watch it:

– The characters, written so well that they will seem more real than your mother who enters your room in the morning at 7 with the vacuum cleaner

– 6 seasons, totaling 114 episodes: you feel like spending time here

– You will come back here and thank us after seeing the episode “THE CONSTANT”

3- BIG MOUTH

Beyond BoJack Horseman (which I love) and Rick & Morty, there’s more. Big Mouth it is certainly the least “classic” of the series mentioned here, but for me it already is. Because perhaps I have never laughed so much in front of an animated series and, at the same time, I also learned a lot of things. Yes why Big Mouth it is not just a “desecrating” series on puberty and its effects: it knows how to tell every facet of sexuality, intimacy and things that maybe you thought you had thought only you but no: welcome to everyone in the club. Note IMPO: never, never and I say never watch it with parents. But never really.

3 reasons to watch it:

– It makes you laugh, but also reflect. And sing: it has some crazy songs

– Episodes lasting less than half an hour, to be seen one after the other like the slices of panettone that you will eat in those days

Nick Kroll, author and protagonist of the series, in the original version interprets the voice of 25 different characters. Yes, I wrote well: TWENTY-FIVE

4- THE OFFICE (US)

We come to one of my 5 favorite series of all time (what are the others? Well then maybe I’ll tell you). I never thought that the story of a small branch of a paper company and its employees could win my heart so much but… it happened. It’s funny, because this is his primary goal. But it also makes you cry, a lot. It makes the characters love, it makes you think about who you are and what you want to become. I think it’s more than a series so if you’ve never seen it, make up for it now. For real.

3 reasons to watch it:

Michael Scott, interpreted by Steve Carrell, is the most beautiful character in the history of the characters

– All the other characters are so “real” that you will consider them as your true friends episode after episode

– Looking at it, you will finally understand where all the memes from this series come from

Gender in my opinion: demented / thoughtful comic

You will like it if you have seen: I Simpson, How I met your mother

5- VIKING

Last, but not least, the series that I too will recover during the holidays this Christmas. Because I tried a couple of times, but without too much attention. Same thing that happened to me with Game of Thrones. At the time I said: “Yes, beautiful, well done, but how boring.” Time 3 episodes and I was already there ready to enlist in the Ravens of the night.

But let’s talk about Vikings. Why do I think it’s worth seeing? Initially produced by History Channel, tells the story of Ragnarr Loðbrók, a legendary Viking warrior whose true existence is only supposed. The story is set between the Scandinavia and the British Isles (that is, crazy natural places) and has 6 seasons to take out like the butter and salmon canapes before the lunch of Christmas.

3 reasons to watch it:

– the natural and mythological settings that project you into another world, into another era

– the history, the battles and the loves that always fascinate

– they will do a new spin off series: do you want not to watch that too?
