Employees of the Moscow Department of Transport yesterday, May 26, officially announced plans to install special charging stations with increased power on the territory of the capital, which are intended for fans of electric cars. According to the creators of this project, they plan to install at least fifty stations on the territory of Moscow (in the future this number may increase), which will make it possible to charge an electric car in just twenty minutes. Naturally, you should understand that this is an average time – for different car models with different battery capacity, the time will differ.
So that the owners of electric cars do not spend a lot of time recharging their vehicles, the new charging stations will delight with a capacity of 50 kW. Moreover, for the purpose of greater convenience and accessibility, these charging stations will be installed next to large shopping centers, cafes and entertainment complexes in the center of the capital, as well as not far from residential areas. In this case, the driver will be able to go shopping while his car is charging, or put the vehicle on “refueling” upon arrival home. At the same time, twenty minutes to charge is very fast, since modern domestic stations are able to fill the battery of an electric car in about two hours.
Also, the initiators of the project noted that powerful charging stations are equipped with connectors for charging both European and American cars – in fact, it will be possible to charge absolutely any electric car. And in order not to wait in line, drivers will be offered to book a seat through the Moscow Transport application. So far, the new stations are undergoing an active stage of testing, but no one informs exactly when they will be sent to release, as well as the cost of using this charger.
