Only yesterday Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy M52 5G smartphone, and today (and also in India) debuted a more affordable 5G model – Galaxy F42 5G. It doesn’t have such a powerful platform as the new Galaxy M line, but the price is lower. At the same time, the characteristics are quite at the level of similar models of Chinese brands.

Galaxy F42 5G is built on the MediaTek Deimensity 700 SoC, has 6-8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal flash memory. The IPS display with a teardrop notch features a 6.6-inch diagonal with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a frame rate of 90 Hz.

The main camera is represented by sensors with a resolution of 64, 5 and 2 megapixels (a 5 megapixel one is connected with an ultra wide-angle lens, and a 2 megapixel one is used for scene depth analysis). The front camera uses an 8 megapixel sensor. There is a fingerprint scanner, but not a subscreen one, but a side one. The smartphone also comes with a standard headphone jack and USB-C port.

The Galaxy F42 5G runs Android 11 with One UI 3.1, a 5000mAh battery with 15W charging support. The dimensions and weight of the smartphone are 167.2 x 76.4 x 9.0 mm and 203 grams. The base version of the Galaxy F42 5G with 6GB of RAM will cost early adopters $ 245, while the 8GB version is priced at $ 270.
