In China, a new, top-end version of the local popular large crossover BYD Tang EV has been certified. The novelty is distinguished by increased power and the presence of all-wheel drive – according to the scheme with two electric motors: one on the front axle, the second on the rear.
The power of the front electric motor is 244 hp, the rear one is 271 hp. The total power of the power plant is 515 hp. The expected acceleration time of the car to 100 km / h is less than 4 s. The single-engine BYD Tang EV is equipped with a rechargeable battery with an energy density of 140 Wh / kg, and in the top version it is increased to 150 Wh / kg. However, the autonomy of the all-wheel drive version is still lower – 615 km versus 700 km for the single-engine one.
The overall dimensions of the top BYD Tang EV are 4900 x 1950 x 1725 mm, the wheelbase is 2820 mm. The equipment is about the same as that of the top single-engine version. The novelty will go on sale in China next spring, and it will cost about $ 45,000.
