55% of millennials in Brazil feel financially secure, research shows

A global survey conducted by the consultancy Deloitte and obtained exclusively by CNN pointed out that generations Z and millennials in Brazil feel financially more secure than the global average, but that both need parallel activities to supplement their income.

According to the “Gen Z and Millennial Survey 2022”, 55% of Brazilian millennials feel financially secure, against 46% of the global average. The generation is also said to be more confident that it will be possible to retire comfortably (53% Brazil/41% globally).

Generation Z in Brazil is more in line with the average in the rest of the world. The study shows that 40% of Brazilians and 40% of global respondents feel financially secure, while 39% of Brazilians and 41% of people outside Brazil believe they will be able to retire.

The study surveyed 14,808 Gen Z people and 8,412 millennials (23,220 respondents in total) from 46 countries. In Brazil, 801 people were heard, being 500 from generation Z and 301 millennials.

The main “beaks” made by the two generations in Brazil were also pointed out. They are: seller of products or services through digital platforms (21% generation Z and 26% millennials), digital influencer (18% of both generations) and work in for-profit organizations (18% of generation Z and 22% of millennials).

This year, the survey showed that the two generations analyzed are less likely to want to leave their current jobs in the next two years. Of the total, they are 36% of Gen Z (last year, it was 49%) and 28% of millennials (last year, it was 34%).
