The Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria, said this Tuesday (28) that the auction of 5G technology, held at the end of last year, has become a “case world” and that “several countries” are inviting the government to talk about the project.
“They are copying the model. It was the first big non-revenue 5G auction”, said Faria at the opening of the Telebrasil 2022 Panel.
Also in an opening speech at the event, the president of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Carlos Baigorri, said that the communications sector is approaching a turning point that will only be overcome with “joint effort and dedication”.
He classified it as a challenge to reposition the State and accompany the digital transformation from a fragmented governmental structure.
“The structure today is extremely fragmented to deal with the digital economy. Fragmentation is bad for society. How to overcome this challenge of repositioning the State with regard to the economy and digital services? I don’t have that answer, Anatel doesn’t have it, but I’m sure the best answer will be the one built by all of us”, he added.
