Following the 5G test network in Moscow, the MTS operator plans to start testing the 5G network in St. Petersburg among its subscribers.

This was announced by the director of MTS in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region Pavel Korotin on his official page on the social network Facebook.
Korotin said: Let me tell you a secret, we plan to launch similar zones in St. Petersburg this summer. Our team has selected more than ten popular places among Petersburgers where the next generation network will be available.
The top manager explained that MTS already has a 5G pilot zone in Kronshdat, but ordinary users cannot join it, since this network has a different purpose.
Petersburgers with smartphones with 5G support will be invited to participate in mass testing in the summer. They will receive an SMS inviting them to connect to the pilot network and evaluate the difference in capabilities – the speed of downloading “heavy” content, watching videos in 4K quality, virtual and augmented reality services.
