5G will move US$ 25.5 billion in the country by 2025 with technology boost, says IDC

5G technology should move US$ 25.5 billion in Brazil by 2025, considering only the impetus of technologies such as artificial intelligence, Big Data & Analytics, Cloud, security, AR/VR, Robotics and IoT.

The projection was one of those presented at a press conference promoted by the International Data Corporation (IDC) this Tuesday (8).

For IDC, the definition of spectrum, the format for commercialization of licenses and the competition obtained in the auctions show the leading role of Brazil in Latin America.

IoT

The consultancy expects that, throughout this year in Brazil, a total of US$ 1.6 billion will be directed to solutions and services related to the Internet of Things (IoT).

The number represents growth of 17.6% over the previous year.

IDC also explains that, in emerging markets such as Brazil, IoT deployments aimed at reducing operating costs and increasing efficiency have more space in the face of innovation issues.

As a result, activities related to manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, retail and utilities should lead the initiatives to use this type of technology.
