6.6 magnitude earthquake hits Taiwan

One earthquake of magnitude 6.6 reached the City in Taitung, USsoutheastern from Taiwan, according to Department of meteorology from the island. There is no initial information about the impacts.

Six days ago, a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.3 was recorded in Japan. According to the country’s Fire Management Agency, the quake caused two deaths and injured 94 people.

The earthquake was felt in Tokyo and on the coast of Fukushima Prefecture, a region that suffered from strong tremors and devastating tsunamis in March 2011, which also triggered a nuclear disaster.

Japan and Taiwan are Asian countries and are just over 2,220 kilometers apart.
