WhatsApp has received a major update that improves the functionality of voice messages. They first appeared back in 2013, but still lagged behind competitive messengers in terms of capabilities – even though the option is very popular (7 billion voice messages daily). However, now 6 new functions have appeared in the service at once, some of which are not even in Telegram (it is tacitly believed that it is he who sets the trends in instant messengers).
Some of the new options are already standard for users of other messengers:
- play out of chat – voice messages can continue to be listened to (in the background), even if you exit the sender’s chat;
- sound wave display – visualizes the volume of the sound in the voice message, which helps to better capture the meaning;
- pre-listen to the recording – to check the recorded before sending to the interlocutor;
- pause playback – if you press pause while listening, then you can continue listening to the voice message exactly from the place where it was stopped.
And here are the options pause and resume recording there is no voice message in the same Telegram. In addition, WhatsApp has learned speed up playback voice messages not only doubled, but also one and a half times.
