Today, August 9th, Sennheiser officially announced the latest addition to its Momentum range of premium wireless noise canceling headphones. We are talking about the Momentum 4 Wireless, which, at $ 350, is noticeably different from previous models in this line – this time the company has changed its approach to design, abandoning the retro aesthetic in favor of a lighter and more comfortable case. As a result, the novelty, according to the manufacturer, provides exceptional comfort with excellent active noise cancellation compared to Momentum 3 Wireless.
However, which was quite expected, the manufacturer did not stop solely at updating the case design. The main feature of these headphones is the battery life – Sennheiser employees said that the Momentum 4 Wireless headphones can play music tracks for 60 hours on a single battery charge. This is a really impressive figure that leaves far behind the promised 20-30 hours of battery life from competitors like the Sony WH-1000XM5, Bose QuietComfort 45 and Apple AirPods Max. And for those to whom this particular parameter is very important, the new product from Sennheiser will be the uncontested leader.

But in terms of sound quality, no cardinal changes have occurred, since the third generation of headphones in this line sounded more than worthy. The Momentum 4 Wireless uses 42mm drivers, which the manufacturer has tuned for high dynamics, sound clarity and “musicality”. But if there are not so many changes in terms of sound, then voice calls have been improved more than noticeably – in the fourth generation of headphones, voice calls have been noticeably improved, so it will be more pleasant to communicate with the interlocutor. The manufacturer also abandoned the usual physical control buttons – instead, gestures, swipes and touches are now used, as in other flagship headphones.

However, there are also some negative changes. Firstly, now the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless headphones have a durable, inflexible case – it will not work to fold them into a case for compact transportation, although the case is included, but it is too large. Secondly, there are also interchangeable ear pads in the kit, but now they are made not of genuine leather, but of artificial leather. Not the best news for music lovers accustomed to premium leather.
