The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in São Paulo, Jorge Rybka, spoke to CNN on the situation of Ukrainians in Brazil after the attacks carried out by Russia on the Eastern European country on Thursday morning (24). Local authorities have already confirmed the death of at least 130 people in the conflict.
According to the consul, the Ukrainian community in Brazil is represented by more than 600,000 people who are “distressed” by news from family members living in the country.
“The Ukrainian community in Brazil exceeds 600,000; there are 600 thousand Brazilians of Ukrainian origin. Like them, I have relatives, and the difficulty in having news leaves everyone with a heavy heart, we are distressed, worried, ”he said.
“We are still looking for peace, diplomacy, whatever is possible. We ask for this territorial invasion to be rolled back,” Rybka said.
