AMD has begun sending out information to the press about the new Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000 processors – their premiere will take place in the near future, and we already have official confirmation of the parameters of the representatives of the line. Interestingly, the maximum frequency of all five CPUs is 4.5 GHz, but the base frequencies are different. It should also be noted that the series will not have a 48-core processor.

Leading the Threadripper PRO 5995WX lineup with 64 cores, 128 threads and a base frequency of 2.7GHz. It is followed by a 32-core and 64-thread Threadripper PRO 5975WX with a base frequency of 3.6 GHz. The minimum frequency of the Threadripper PRO 5965WX with 24 cores and 48 threads is 3.8 GHz. The series also includes a 16-core and 32-thread Threadripper PRO 5955WX with a base frequency of 4.0 GHz and a 12-core and 24-thread Threadripper PRO 5945WX with a frequency of 4.1 GHz.
The TDP of all processors is 280W. The source notes that at first these CPUs will be received by system integrators, and only then retail sales will start. The first Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000 workstations will be the Lenovo ThinkStation P620. Also yesterday it became known that AMD is preparing budget consumer processors Ryzen 5 5500, Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 7 5700X, which will compete with the Intel Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs of the Alder Lake family.
